Bodmer – Teckla Mathilda Bodmer of Brooks died on October 25, 1977 in Brooks General Hospital at the age of 86 years.
She was born on March 6, 1891, daughter of Edward and Brita Kathern Ohman at Sundsvall, Sweden. She came with her family at the age of seven years to homestead in both Minot, North Dakota and the Iddesleigh district, where she later taught school.
She married Henry J. Bodmer who had business interests in both Iddesleigh and Patricia in March of 1917. She moved to Bassano in June 1947 where she was an active member in the community, a member of Knox Presbyterian Church and a life member of Knox Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid. She was also a life member of the Mary Keohane Chapter No. 96 Order of Eastern Star.
She moved to Newbrook Lodge in May 1976 where she has resided since.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Henry, a brother, Edward, sister-in-law, Marjorie Ohman and brother-in-law , Charles Lindholm.
She leaves to mourn two sons, Grant and his wife Elsie, and Vern and his wife Betty Anne of Bassano; a sister, Anna Lindholm of Wetaskiwin; two brothers, August Ohman of Didsbury and Victor Ohman of Mission, B.C., Five grand- children and two greatgrandchildren.
Funeral service was held on Friday, October 28 at 2 p.m. in Knox Presbyterian Church in Bassano with Rev. Hector Rose officiating. Interment followed in the Bassano Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Jessie Eccles, Mrs. Elsie Rumohr, Mrs. Cora Hansen, Mrs. Amy Jessen, Mrs. B. Chapman and Mrs. A. Ulricksen. Active pallbearers were Hugh Bodmer, Rod Bodmer, Randy Jackson, Gerald Bodmer, Dave Andrus and Clarence Palmer.
