Duperon – Ray Alex Duperon passed away in Bassano on July 7th, 1999 at the age of 56 years. Born in Saskatchewan on February 2nd, 1943 Ray was raised on the family farm in the Darmoundy district, Saskatchewan. He later moved to Moose Jaw, then to Dawson Creek and came to Bassano 24 years ago where he operated his business Ray’s General Contracting. Ray, a loving, kind, caring, individual will be remembered for enjoying the simple things and for his innovative and creative approach to his work and life. He was predeceased by his father Alexander on August 23rd, 1987. Ray is survived by his loving wife Linda of Bassano; his children Paula Hammer and her husband Steve of Salmon Arm, Joanne Medeiros and her husband Henrick of Bassano, Scott of Bassano, Twila Rolfe and her husband Tom of Calgary, Michelle Andrus and her husband Jeff of Bassano and Trevor Lemire of Medicine Hat; grandchildren Jesse, Blaire, Miranda, Melissa, Kailey and Nocole; his mother Iva Duperon and her special friend Everett of Moose Jaw; sister Gloria Ferguson and her son Jeff of Camrose and Ray’s life long friend Steve Downton of Spruce Grove and his family. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, July 12th from Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano. Rev. Shane Andrus officiating. Interment to follow at Bassano Cemetery.
