DYCK – Katie Dyck of Bassano, Alberta died on March 2, 1986 at the age of 67 years.
She was born in Russia and came to Canada with her parents in March 1929 to Harris, Saskatchewan and moved to Rosemary where her family farmed. She attended the West Duchess county school and married in 1940 and farmed in the district
until moving to Makepeace in 1947 farming there until moving to Bassano in 1961.
She was predeceased by her husband George in 1975; her parents, one sister and two brothers.
Surviving are six children, George, Dennis, Terry and Barbara, all of Bassano, Freda and Wanda of Calgary; nine grandchildren; two brothers, Jake of Brooks and John of Hope, B.C.; two sisters, Annie of Camrose and Suzie of Rosemary; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on, Thursday, March 6 at 2 p.m. in Knox Presbyterian Church in Bassano with the Reverend H. W, Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the Bassano Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Abe Dyck, Frank Willms, Walter Smith, Dan Loewen, Paul Dyck and Dennis Dyck.
