FREEMAN – William (Bill) Alfred Freeman, beloved husband of Mary Freeman of Brooks, passed away in Brooks on June 15th, 1998 at the age of 80 years.
Born in Bassano, Bill had resided in this area all of his life. He served overseas during World War Two with the Royal Canadian Army. Bill married Mary Gosling in Bassano on January 12th, 1946 and together they farmed in the Lathom District until retiring to Brooks in October of 1982. Bill entered the Brooks Health Centre Nursing Home in 1996.
He was predeceased by his mother Winnifred in 1945, his father Alfred in 1969, a brother John and a sister Mary.
Besides his wife, Bill is also survived by his sister Margaret Kerr of Sicamous, British Columbia and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 18th from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Bassano. Archdeacon Dave Prowse officiating.
Honorary pallbearers are Rod Hood, Bernard Steinbach, Mike Steinbach, Rick Roen, Max Tateson and Tac Wessels. Active pallbearers are Alan Gosling, Glen Gosling, Earl Osterberg, Lome Steinbach, Gary Gosling and Lawrence Gosling.
