HOLM – Edith Lyle Holm died in the Brooks Health Centre on July 4, 1982 at the age of 81 years.
She was born in Idaho, U.S.A. and came to Canada in 1917 to the Rosebud district with her family. She married in Calgary in 1920 and farmed in the Chancellor district. She moved to Washington and later Oregon and returned to Calgary in 1952, to Bassano in 1968, to Strathmore in 1972 where she resided in the lodge there until entering Newell Nursing Home in 1979.
She was predeceased by her husband Charlie.
Surviving are three sisters, Mrs. Mamie Peake of Bassano, Mrs. Kathleen Anttenon of Roseberg, Oregon and Mrs. Helen Oster of Australia; four brothers, John and Bill Mofford of Oregon, Charlie and George Mofford of Rocky Mountain House and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, July 6 at 2 p.m. in Knox Presbyterian Church in Bassano with the Rev. Hector Rose officiating. Interment followed in the Bassano Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Arnold Peake, Sheldon Peake, Stratton Peake, Billy Peake, Rich Andrews and Ron Thompson.
