Kamp, Albert John

KAMP – Mr. Albert John Kamp,beloved husband of Mrs. Sigred Kamp of Bassano, passed away in Bassano on June 9th, 1997 at the age of 91 years.

Born in Enschede, Holland on May 5th, 1906 John came to Canada in 1910 with his parents to the Tide Lake area. He married the former Sigred Elizabeth Colbens on October 22nd, 1936 in Tilley. They lived at Tide Lake, moving to Suffield in 1949 and in 1975 to Bassano. John entered the Nursing Home in Brooks briefly before returning to Bassano in June of 1996 to the Long Term Care Unit of the hospital. He was an active member of the Drop In Centre, loved hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

John was predeceased by his parents and his twin sister Annie.

He is survived by his loving wife Sigred of Bassano; sons Ken and his wife Greta of Airdrie and Jack and his wife Trudy of Carstairs; grandchildren Dana (Stu Rathwell), Kendra and Lisa; great­grandchildren Stephanie, Carly and Ryan as well as numerous other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 13th at 2:00 p.m. from. Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano. Intern minister Shirley Barker-Kirby officiating. Interment to follow at Bassano Cemetery.
