Keeling, Stanley F. Sr.

KEELING – Stanley F. Keeling Sr. beloved  husband of Velma Keeling of Coaldale, Alberta passed away suddenly at Coaldale  on September 22, 1993 at the age of 82  years.

He was born at Purleigh, Essex, England  and came to Canada in 1925 with his parents, a brother and a sister and settled on a  farm at Gem. He met Velma Leeson in 1934 and they were married on October 26, 1935.

Stan was a man of many talents and  throughout his life he worked on a steam threshing outfit in 1925 and also tried his hand at farming, beekeeping, as an electrician, mechanic, photographer and piano  tuner. Music being the light of his life he played in many different orchestras and  continued to play for seniors and at hospitals as well as for his own enjoyment until his  passing.

He was predeceased by a daughter Virginia Joan in 1986.

Surviving are his loving wife Velma and  children Jean (Al) Soderquist, Val  Soderquist, Ed (Marg) Keeling, Stan (Roberta) Keeling, Myrna (Ron) McNeight,  Donna (Bill) Macdonell, 16 grandchildren  and four great-grandchildren and many wonderful friends and neighbours.

Funeral service was held on Saturday,  September 25 at Knox Presbyterian Church  in Bassano with the Reverend Hector Rose officiating. Interment followed in the Bassano Cemetery.
