MOTT – Annie Blanche Mott died on May 15, 1991 in the Brooks Health Centre Nursing Home at the age of 100 years.
She was born on December 14,1890 at Bloomfield Station, New Brunswick. She spent her childhood in the east and came west in 1912.
She married Howard Ernest Mott at Assiniboia, Sask. in 1914, moved to the Lathom district in 1921 and farmed there until retiring to Bassano in 1951. She entered the nursing home two years ago where she has resided since.
She was active in the Lathom Community Club, the church guild and she was a volunteer for the Red Cross.
She was predeceased by her husband Howard on August 14, 1969 at the age of 84 years.
Surviving are two daughters, Mina Hood of Bassano and Pat Powell of Semi Valley, California, eight grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren, a sister Edna Ferguson of Calgary and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 21 at 2 p.m. in St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Bassano with the Reverend David Asher and the Reverend Hector Rose officiating. Interment followed in the Bassano Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gordon Spooner, Murray Spooner, Trevor Spooner, Douglas Hood, Cameron Gillespie and Barry Bell.
If friends desire memorial donations may be made to the Brooks Health Centre Nursing Home or the Bassano Cemetery Fund.
