PEAKE – Arnold Walter Peake died accidentally in the Rosemary district on January 5, 1986 at the age of 35 years.
He was born at Bassano and it received his early education at Gem. In 1962 he moved to the ranch on Bull Pound Creek near Finnegan and continued his schooling at Cessford. In 1969 he started with Kenting Geophysical seeing much of the
Arctic. northern Alberta and B.C. In the fall of 1973 he was employed with Lakeside Feeders.
He married Mary Struble of Calgary on December 31, 1973 and in the spring of 1974 moved to Bassano and managed Master Feeds Research Station for LK Ranches, was sales representative for American Breeders’ Service and was currently employed with XL Feeds as mill manager.
Surviving are his wife Mary: two son Danny and Scott, all of Bassano; his parents, Richard and Cassie Peake of Gem; two brothers, Sheldon and his wife Debbie and Stratton and his wife Adrian and families all of Finnegan: his grandmother, Mrs. Mamie Peake of Brooks; mother-in-law, Gladys Struble of Calgary and sister-in-law, Connie Cooper and family of Calgary.
Funeral service will be held on a Thursday, January 9 at 2 p.m. in Knox Presbyterian Church in Bassano with the Reverend Hector Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the Bassano Cemetery.
Pallbearers are Willard Smith, Larry Hein, Grant Veno, Rod MacLean, Stanley Andrus and Nick Weidernan.
