ROVER – Jehu Troxel Royer passed away suddenly October 26th, 1992, in Bassano, Alberta at the age of 93 years.
Born November 7th, 1898, at Westminster, Maryland, he came to Canada from Colorado with his parents in 1914 to farm in the Gem district and continued to farm in the area until retiring to Playfair Lodge, Bassano, in 1984.
Jehu enjoyed gardening, fishing, sports and a good game of crib.
He was predeceased by his wife June in 1946, his son Phillip in 1926, his son David in 1979, two brothers and three sisters.
He is survived by three sons, Don and his wife Elaine of Edmonton, Curtis and his wife Dorry of Calgary and Max of Ottawa; two daughters, Kay Goudie of Brooks and Betty and her husband Arnie Lerch of Westaskiwin, 13 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother Winter and his wife Marie; one sister Janette Burrows and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held at Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano, on Thursday, October 29th, at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Hector Rose officiating. Interment followed in Bassano Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Jerry Goudie, Kent, Randal, Craig and Greg Royer and Brent Storey.
He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his family.
