SCHELSKE – Molly Evelyn Schelske of Bassano, Alberta died at Bassano on May 15, 1989 at the age of 64 years.
She was born at Medicine Hat, Alberta, on December 11, 1924.
She was raised at Whitlaw, Alberta attended school there and normal school in Calgary and taught school in several locations in southern Alberta.
She married Ephriarn Schelske at Whitlaw on August 1, 1948 and moved to Bassano where she has resided since.
She was past Queen of Sakkara Temple No. 115 Daughters of the Nile of Calgary, Past Matron of Mary Keohane Chapter No. 96 O.E.S., Bassano, a long time member of Knox Presbyterian Church Ladies Aid, school librarian at the Bassano School for the past 14 years and a Bassano correspondent for the Brooks Bulletin for a number of years.
She was predeceased by her parents Virgil and Helen Elliott.
Surviving are her husband Ephriam of Bassano, two sons, Bruce and his wife Wendy of Edmonton and John of Bassano, seven daughters, Jaquelyn Penner-Schelske of Bassano, Marie Schelske of Edmonton, Sheila and her husband Brian Beer of Sydney, Australia, Kara and her husband Ted Blackstaffe of Beaumont, Alberta, Phyllis Schelske of Bassano, Betty Schelske of Edmonton and Avis Schelske of Bassano, 11 grandchildren, three brothers, Glen and his wife Verna Elliott of Seven Persons and Alan and his wife Elaine Elliott of Sylvan Lake, Donald Elliott and his wife Elsie of Cuba, two sisters, Dorothy and her husband Mauno Suominen of Joffrey, Alberta and Marion and her husband Palmer Olsen of Pine Lake, Alberta and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 18 at 2 p.m. in Knox Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Hector Rose officiating. Interment will follow in the Bassano Cemetery.
If friends desire memorial donations may be made to the charity of their choice or ”flowers to a friend.”
Pallbearers are Lome Conley, Darrell Conley, Keith Suominen, Larkin Schelske, Leigh Kendall and Dale Elliott.
