STEINBACH – Thomas Peter Steinbach of Bassano, Alberta died on April 17, 1989 at Bassano at the age of 30 years.
He was born at Bassano on October 30, 1958, attended school there and ranched with his father and brothers.
He was a member of various team roping clubs, the Bassano Elks and was an avid curler.
Surviving are his parents Ruth and Bernard Steinbach of Bassano, his brothers and sisters – Jackie Sawatsky and her husband Don and their children Sandra and Carrie Lynn of Bassano, Ben and his wife Aleta and their children Suntana, Yolanda and Venessa of Bassano, Daniel and his wife Laurie of Bassano and Janice and her husband Gary Armstrong and their children Stuart and Megan of Irvine, Alberta; his grandparents Jack and Blanche Stuart of Turner Valley; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Prayer service was held at St. Columba Catholic Church in Bassano on Thursday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m. and funeral mass was celebrated at St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Bassano on Friday, April 21 at 10:30 .a.rn with the Reverend Searnus Mackrell celebrant. Interment followed in the Bassano Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gordon Barlow, Gordon Huggard, Lachie McKinnon, Darryl Weestra, Ken Williams, Ken Bell, Stuart Bell, Alan Smith, Justin Seely and Michael Bulger.
If friends desire memorial donations may be made to either the St. Columba Building Fund or the Bassano Cemetery Fund.
