THORLAKSON – Alfred Ludwlg Thorlakson of Bassano, Alberta died at Bassano on July 21, 1990 at the age of 54 years.
He was born on December 1, 1935 at Climax, Saskatchewan and was raised there on the family farm. He attended elementary school at Climax, high school at Central Collegiate in Regina and Regina College where he took accounting and later worked for Marshall Wells at Regina and Winnipeg.
In 1967 he moved to Bassano with his brother Lorne and family where they together owned and operated the Imperial Hotel.
He was a member of the Bassano Elks Lodge.
He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Leroy in January, 1990, his mother Nora in August, 1980 and his father Neils in April 1952.
Surviving are his brother Lorne and his wife Audrey of Bassano a nephew Terry (Gwen) Thorlakson and their children Tanya and Terry of Brooks, a niece Bonnle (Lynn) Berringer and their children Jamie and Chad of Bassano, a niece Lorna (Earl) Landis and their children Corey and Shannon of Bassano.
Memorial service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church in Bassano on Friday, July 27 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Hector Rose officiating.
If friends desire memorial donations may be made to the Bassano Cemetery Fund.
