JASPERSON- Niels Verner Jasperson of Brooks, Alberta died on December 9, 1986 at the age of 72 years.

He was born at Redvers, Saskatchewan and came to Tilley, Alberta in 1939.

He married Lilly Nielsen at Bethany Lutheran Church in Tilley on October 11, 1942. In the same year he enlisted with the Canadian Army serving overseas in the Second World War. Following his discharge in 1945 he returned to the Tilley district where he farmed until retiring to Brooks in 1976 where he has resided since.

He was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church serving on the council in various capacities. He served on the board of Bantry Grazing Association and Tilley R.E.A. and was a member of the Senior’s Curling Club in Brooks.

Surviving are his wife Lilly of Brooks, a daughter Audrey and her husband Raymond Flatla of Tilley, two sons, Larry and his wife Carol of Tilley and Norman and his wife Renata of Tilley, eight grandchildren, four sisters, Sigrid Damsgaard of Dauphin, Manitoba, Paula Jensen and Valborg Nielsen of Redvers, Sask., and Ellen Scott of Calgary, two brothers, Elmer of Barrie, Ontario and Harold of Weyburn, Sask., and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held on Friday, December 12 at 2 p.m. in Bethany Lutheran Church in Tilley with the Reverend William Braaten officiating. Interment followed in the Bethany Lutheran Cemetery in Tilley.

Honorary pallbearers were Butch Rawleigh, Art Burton, Corny Van Wert, Arnie Henricksen, Gordon Nielsen, Clarence Bengtson, Peder Flatla and Emil Bergum. Active pallbearers were Ron Van Wert, Earl Skriver, Danny Nielsen, Stan Pedersen, Nels Hjorth and Edwin Bronsch.
