SORENSEN. Ingeman Alfred Sorensen of Brooks, Alberta died in the Brooks Health Centre on October 24,1990 at the age of 88 years.
He was born in Serritslev, Denmark on June 20, 1902 the youngest of 14 brothers and sisters and came to Canada as an immigrant in 1928 and settled in Standard, Alberta.
In 1931 he married Lilli his fiancee from Denmark who had also immigrated to Canada in 1929. They moved to Tilley in 1931 where they farmed until 1967 and came to Brooks in 1976 where he has resided since.
He was a respected member of the community and contributed through his church and other local organizations. He brought to all his christian convictions, his steadfastness and commitment. His family will also remember his love, good humor and his trust in people.
He was predeceased by his parents and all his brothers and sisters.
Surviving are his loving wife Lilli and his children Gordon (Sophie) Nielsen of Tilley, Alberta, and their eight children, and six grandchildren, Carl (Joanne) Sorensen of Edmonton and their two children, Doris (Henry) Reitze of Medicine Hat, and their four children and eight grandchildren, Edith (Glenn) Sitler of Ardrossan, Alberta and their three children, Ruth (Verner) Skanderup of Tilley, and their four children and five grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, numerous nieces and nephews and their extended families in Denmark and Germany. He was very special to all of them.
Funeral service was held on Monday, October 29 at 2 p.m. in Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooks with the Reverend Ken Grambo, the Reverend Rick Bergh and the Reverend Elmer Rawling officiating. Interment followed in the Bethany Lutheran Church Cemetery.
