AIRTH – A pioneer resident of this area and well-known among local farming and ranching circles, Andrew Airth died on November 21, 1972 at his farm residence in the one Tree district, He was 66 years of age.
He was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and came with his parents to the Hutton district at the age of five years where his parents homesteaded, He moved to the one Tree district in 1935 where he has farmed since.
Surviving are his wife, Elsie Airth of Brooks; on daughter, Mrs Earl (Phyllis) Tinney of North Battleford, Sask.; two sons, Jock and David of Brooks; three grandchildren; two brothers, Ike Sunstrum of Cessford, James Airth of DeWinton; two sisters, Mrs. Robert (Adeline) Harstead of Brooks; and Mrs. Delmar (Phyllis) Pound of Winnipeg.
Funeral service was held on Friday, November 24, at 2 p.m. in Smith Funeral Home with Rev. C.W. Hutton officiating, Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Samuel Alberts, John Bell, Bern Berg. Ed Franks, Frank Koscis and Donald Murray.
