Albertson, Herbert Vernon

ALBERTSON –  Herbert Vernon Albertson a well known local area resident Herbert Vernon (Vern) Albertson died on September 12, 1982 in the Brooks Health Centre at the age of 88 years.

He was born at Trafalgar, (Mississauga) Ontario and came west to Trewdale, Saskatchewan to homestead.

He married the former Ethel Barry of  at Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan in 1919.

They moved to Rolling Hills in 1941 where he farmed until retiring to Brooks in 1960 where he has resided since. He assisted his son at Brooks Produce, egg grading station and Joe Dumontel at Brooks Home Furnishings.

He was fond of all sports especially golfing and curling.

He was predeceased by one daughter, Miss Audrey Albertson in 1937 at the age of 8 years.

Surviving are his wife, Ethel of Brooks; one daughter, Mar. Verla Patterson of Brooks; one son, Mel of Brooks; eight grandchildren; 14 great- grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Mary Albertson of Mississauga, Ontario, Mrs. Ruby Chamberlain of Oakville, Ontario; two brothers, Harold and Earl of Toronto and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers are Richard Albertson, Jim Patterson, Bill Patterson, Leon Capon, Ben Morrison, Greg Coombs, Ron Perry and Grant Wilfey.
