Albertson, Melvin Willoughby

ALBERTSON – Melvin Willoughby AIbertson of Medicine Hat, Alberta died on March 16, 1988 at the age of 66 years.
He was bom at Shamrock, Saskatchewan and resided at Trewdale, Saskatchewan until moving to Rolling Hills in 1941 with his parents where they homesteaded.
He married the former Louise DeGraw in 1943 in Swift Current and farmed in Rolling Hills until moving to Brooks in 1948.
He operated Brooks Produce which later became Mel’s Produce and retired in 1981. He moved to Rocky Mountain House in 1982 and to Medicine Hat in June of 1987.
Surviving are his wife Louise of Medicine Hat, two daughters, Carolyne and her husband Grant Wilfley of Cochrane and Diana and her husband Leon Capon of Redcliff, a son Richard of Medicine Hat and his special friend Irmgard Green, eight grandchildren, a sister Verla Patterson of Brooks and numerous nieces and nephews.
Following cremation a memorial service was held on Monday, March 21 at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Ken Grambo officiating. Cremains were interred in Brooks Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Michael Wilfley, Brad Wilfley and Lee Capon.
