Alcock, John Samuel

ALCOCK –  A native son of the prairies, John Samuel died January 15, 1978 in Brooks General Hospital. He was 65.

Born in the pioneer community of River Bow, Alta., southwest of Scandia, he moved to Scandia as a child on the farm and his resided there since.

He is survived by his wife, Audrey of Candia; two sons, Ron of Bassano and Glen of Brooks; one granddaughter; one brother Martin of Scandia; six sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Fellger, Vauxhall; Mrs. Edith Strader, Brooks; Mrs Lily Wright, Vauxhall; Mrs, Mabel Peterson, Medicine Hat; Mrs, Kay Barrett, Calgary; Mrs, Irene Schutz, 100 Mile House, B.C.

Funeral service will be Thursday, Jan, 19 at two o’clock in Smith Memorial Chapel with the Rev Malcolm Profitt officiating and interment will be in Brooks cemetery.

Pallbearers are Monty Barrett, Tom Wright, Gordon Alcock, Gail Alcock, Fred Fellger and John Gobeil.

If friends desire, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Directing arrangements is Smith Funeral Home of Brooks and Bassano.
