ALLCOCK – James Albert Allcock passed away January 8, 1970 in a fire at his home in Scandia. He was 49 years of age.
Born at River Bow, Alberta near Scandia, he had resided in that district since. He served overseas five years with the Sound Ranging Battery of the First Canadian Survey Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery in Algiers, North Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Germany and Holland and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion.
He is survived by his father, Ernest of Scandia, two brothers, Sam and Martin of Scandia, seven sisters, Mrs. Fred (Elizabeth) Fellger of Vauxhall, Mrs. Robert (Edith) Strader of Stettler, Mrs. Bert (Lilly) Wright of Vauxhall, Mrs. Orville (Mabel) Peterson of Medicine Hat, Mrs. Gordon (Kay) Barrett of Calgary, Mrs. Harvey (Eileen) Gerring of Victoria, B.C., Mrs. Jack (Anne) Criek of Lethbridge.
Funeral services wee held in Smith Funeral Chapel, Monday January 12 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. C. W. Hutton officiating. Pallbearers were Albert Perry, George Perry, Gordon Allcock, Leroy Peterson, Len Peterson, Tom Wright. Interment was in the Brooks Cemetery with Smith Funeral Home in charge.
