Ellen Anderberg died in the NeweIl Nursing Home on January 3, 1986 at the age of 91 years.
She was born in Minnesota, U.S.A. and came with her parents to Canada and married at Lomond, Alberta on April 7, 1912. She homesteaded in the district moving to Rainier in 1924 and farmed until retiring in 1925. She moved to Brooks in 1971 to reside in Newbrook Lodge and has been a resident of Newell Nursing Home for the past 10 years.
She was predeceased by her husband 0laus on February 3, 1974; a daughter Lilly Ingeberg in 1964 and two sons, Claus in 1929 and Andrew in 1938.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs Pearl Wolfer and her husband Allan of Hays, Mrs. Gladys Nixon of’ Slocan, B.C.; five sons, Marvin, and his wife Barbara of Strathmore, Vern and his wife Sigrid of Penticton, B.C., William and his wife Ida of Port Albemi, B.C., Edmond and his wife Mabel of Oliver and Earl of Didsbury and numerous grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
Funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 7 at 2 p.m. in Smith Memorial Chapel with the Reverend James Hamilton officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bill Nixon, Ken Wolfer, Terry Wolfer, Murray Wolfer, Ron Seiben and Bryce Henrickson.
