Anderberg, Gordon Fife

ANDERBERG: Gordon Fife Anderberg of Brooks, Alberta died in the Foothills Hospital in Calgary on May 23, 1987 at the age of 67 years.

He was born in Lomond, Alberta an attended school at Bow City and moved to Brooks. in 1941.

He married Nannie Moger on April 22, 1943 in Brooks.

He started Anderberg Equipment and machinery agency in 1946 and sold out in 1964. In 1967 he started Anderberg Sports which he operated until retiring in 1981.

He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby. He was a life member of the Brooks Elks Club and the Brooks Curling Club, a member of the Brooks Golf Club and served on the Brooks town council.

Surviving are his wife Nannie of Brooks, a daughter Patsy and her husband Marcel Cote and grandchildren Shane, Jason and Joelle, all of Brooks, two sisters Annie Witting and her husband Milo of Calgary and Danette Land and her husband Woodrow of Kamloops, B.C., two brothers Lester and Don and his wife Vi of Brooks, a great-aunt Eva Smith of Brooks and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held on Tuesday, May 26 at 2 p.m. in Brooks United Church with Reverend Yoline Conley officiating. Fraternal services conducted by Brooks Elks Lodge. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Ercel Lindquist, Jack Fowler, Bernie Scheuerman, Denver Wagar, Jeff Philpott and Joe Dumontel. Active pallbearers were Ed Breitkreutz, Lawrence Cote, Bernie Gordon, Richard Rust, George Webber and Alan Tiegs.

If friends desire memorial donations may be made to the charity of their choice.
