Anderberg – A long time resident of the Lomond and Rainier districts, Olaus Peter Anderberg passed away in Brooks General Hospital February 3, 1974 at the age of 90 years.
Born in Denmard, he came to Newfoundland in 1990 where he was employed before moving to Estevan, Sask., in 1908 where he homesteaded. In 1910 he moved to the Lomond district where he homesteaded and farmed until 1924.
He moved to the Rainier district in 1955 where he farmed and operated the UFA Co-Op Rainier service station for several years. Due to ill health he has resided at Newbrook Lodge, Brooks, for the past three years.
He was predeceased by on daughter, Mrs. Lilly Ingerberg in 1964; two sons Claus in 1929 and Andrew in 1938. Surviving are his wife, Mrs Ellen Anderberg, Brooks; two daughters, Mrs Allan (Pearl) Wolfer of Hays; Mrs. James (Gladys) Nixon of Slocan, B.C.,; five sons, Marven Anderberg of Calgary; Vern of Calgary; Earl of Calgary; William of Port Albernie, B.C.; Edmond of Oliver, B.C.
Funeral service was held Wednesday, February 6, at 2 p.m. with Rev C.W. Hutton officiating. Interment followed in Brooks Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Newbrook Lodge.
Smith Funeral Home were directors of service.
