HARVEY T. ANDERSON – Harvey T. Anderson of Brooks, Alberta died on January 29, 1985 at the age of 79 years. He was born at Cardston, Alberta and received his schooling there and was first employed at a drug store in Claresholm and later operated a store at Spring Coulee. He was employed in the oil patch for many years drilling with Imperial Oil all over Alberta and Saskatchewan for 16 years. He founded Haranda Ltd. in Brooks in the mid 50s, the first company to specialize in power casing and tubing tongs which he operated until retiring in 1976. He was especially fond of music and played the trumpet in various bands in earlier years. He married Anne Bradshaw in May, 1983. Surviving are his wife, Anne of Brooks and her family; two daughters, Lee Hunt of Endiang and Rose Anne Reid of Edmonton; her son, Jim of Weyburn, Saskatchewan; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren; he is also survived by his family; two daughters, Shirley Clark and Colleen Millard, both of Calgary; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; five sisters, Lula Snow of Cardston, Mary Stringam of Lethbridge, Bertha Green of Salt Lake City, Ruby Stringam of Lethbridge, Ruth Strate of Mountain View and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral service was held on Saturday, February 2 at 2:00 p.m. in BrooksUnited Church with the Reverend C.W. Hutton officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery. Pallbearers were George Clark, Kevin Clark, Matthew Millard, Sandy Brown, Ed Wylie and Steve Safronovich. If friends desire memorial donations may be made to the Brooks United Church Memorial Fund. Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
