Anderson, Ida Blanche

ANDERSON – Ida Blanche Anderson died on July 7, 1985 in the Lethbridge Regional Hospital at the age of 86 years. She was born at St. George, New Brunswick and  received her education there and later attended normal school. She came west in the  early l920s to High River,  Alberta and taught school for several years at the Jenny Lind School in Scandia. She married on December 24, 1926 in Calgary and  resided in Scandia until coming to Brooks in 1942 and resided here until moving to Lethbridge in December, 1983. She was a charter member of the UCW, an honorary member of the Brooks Ladies Curling Club and a member for many years of the Brooks  Hospital Auxiliary. She was predeceased by her parents, five brothers, five sisters and her husband,  Ade in 1960. Surviving are four sons and their wives, Dick and Ruby of Calgary, Don and Edith of  Vancouver, Bud and Joyce of Fort McMurray, Linc and Doreen of Nanton; two daughters and their husbands, Joyce and Paul Cann of Lethbridge and Beth and Doug MacKay of Vancouver;  13 grandchildren and seven  great-grandchildren.  Funeral service will be  held on Thursday, July 11 at  2 p.m. in Brooks United  Church with the Reverend James Hamilton and the  Reverend Wes Hutton officiating. Interment will follow in the Brooks Cemetery. If friends desire memorial donations may be made to the Brooks United Church Memorial Fund. Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
