ANDERSON—- Mary Anderson of Brooks, Alberta died in the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary on June 21, 1988 at the age of 75 years.
She was born in the Medicine Hat District and resided in the Irvine area until moving to Medicine Hat in 1931 and worked there as a housekeeper. She was later employed as a housekeeper for James and John Mitchell’s LA Ranch and later still the HG and PA Minor Ranch, there she met her husband Joe and they were married on June 27,1941.
They moved to Tilley where she worked for the Gleddie Bros., later moved to Alderson, returned to the Minor Ranch and moved back to Tilley in 1949. She was also employed at the V-V Ranch at Wardlow before retiring to Brooks in 1965 where she has resided since.
She was predeceased by an infant daughter Josephine.
Surviving are her husband Joe of Brooks, four daughters, Anne Maris James of Brooks, Violet (Russell) Watson of Calgary, Gladys (Seigh) Bruecknar of Surrey, B.C. and Betty Anderson of Medicine Hat, seven grandchildren, two brothers, Michael Nitz of Medicine Hat and Ted Nitz of Nova Scotia, five sisters, Katy Roule of Calgary, Lena Weiss of Medicine Hat, Eve Ulmer of Medicine Hat, Ida Sept of Nelson, B.C. and Olga Chaykowski of Medicine Hat and numer ous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Friday, June 24 at 10:30 a.m. in Brooks Baptist Church with the Reverend Harald Gruber, officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Harold Hawkins, Alfred Jensen, Tom Livingston, Alvin Penner, Vic Saari and Doug Woodman.
