ARCHIBALD – Olive Edna Archibald passed away in Brooks on July 2nd, 2000 at the age of 95 years.
Olive was born in Madoc, Ontario on September 17th, 1904 and attended the Bridgeford County School, the Asquith Saskatchewan School and High School in Saskatoon. She attended Normal School in Saskatoon and had taught at the Borden-Wheatheart School for 2 years, the Renown-Highwood School for 2 years the Regina-Wascana School and others for 20 years. She and Roy were married in Saskatoon on April 11th, 1928. Olive had returned to University after her family was raised and received her Degree in Education. She retired after many years of teaching and in 1976 came to Brooks and had resided here since she was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. Olive will be remembered for her love and pride of her family, for her independence and energy and for her great joy for her home and flowers.
She was predeceased by her husband W. Roy on May 15th, 1980, her son Don on December 14th, 1996, 2 sisters Alice and Marie and brother Tom. She is survived by her loving family, daughter Marion Cragg and her husband Stan of Brooks; 8 grandchildren, Joanne, Craig, Sandra, Maureen, Lynn, Doug, David and Kari; 10 great grandchildren; daughter-in-law Carole Archibald of Calgary; sister Ruby (Frank) Ward of Saskatoon and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 6th from Trinity Lutheran Church, Brooks. Rev. Dick Hanson officiating. Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery.
