Armstrong, Alfred

ARMSTRONG – Alfred Armstrong of Rolling Hills passed away on May 3, 1972 in the Brooks Hospital at the age of 75 ages.

He was born in Ontario and served overseas in the First World War and following his discharge in 1919 resided in Claydon, Saskatchewan where he farmed until 1942, moving to Regina where he was a caretaker in various schools, He moved to Rolling Hills in 1966 where he has resided since.

He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion in Brooks.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Alma Hanscom, Rolling Hills, Mrs. Sarah Haywood, Toronto, one brother, Joseph Armstrong of Detroit, Michigan.

Funeral service was held Monday, May 8 at 2 p.m. in the Church of God, Rolling Hills with Rev. F. Hackett officiating, Interment was in the Brooks Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Cecil Daniels, Robert Daniels, Wayne Daniels, Chris Freimuth, Albert Heller and Treffle Gobeil.

Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
