Bahr, Veva Nedra & Albert

Bahr- Veva Nedra Bahr of  Brooks, Alberta passed away peacefully following a brief illness on August 9, 1992 at the age of 76 years.

She was born at Sundial (Turin area) and married Albert Bahr in October, 1939. After working on several farms in Southern Alberta they settled on a farm in the Rainier district where they raised five children. She, later moved to Brooks, where she had resided since.

Veva enjoyed traveling, loved her flowers, garden and pets and enjoyed phone calls with her children and dinners out with her family. She will be fondly remembered by her friends at Jackfish Bay, Lake Newell.

Surviving are husband Albert of Taber; five children, Marybelle and her husband Jack Tollestrup of Lethbridge, Raymond Bahr and his wife Coleen of Vauxhall, Hazel Alcock and her husband Al of Calgary, Franklin Bahr and his wife Lorie of Brooks and lIa and her husband Garnet Lovasz of Nanaimo, B.C.; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sister Ila Main of Lethbridge; her brother Ross Main and his wife Freda of Turin and nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church on Thursday, August 13 at 2 p.m. with the Reverend Karl Hedlin officiating. Interment will follow in Brooks Cemetery.

Active pallbearers are Gordon Alcock, Gail Alcock, Franklin Bahr, Jim Etheridge, Ken Folden and Ray Bahr.

BAHR – Mr. Albert Bahr of Taber, beloved husband of the late Mrs, Veve Bahr, passed away in Taber on Monday, June 20, 1994 at the age of 81 years.

Albert was born on May 9, 1913 at German Town, South Dakota. He immigrated with  his family at age three to Rosetown, Saskatchewan where he was raised and received his education. He married Veva Main in October of 1939 and they farmed in several Southern Alberta communities settling in Rainier in 1944 where they farmed until 1965. He later moved to Taber where he has continued to reside until the time of his passing.

Albert is survived by five children Marybelle (Jack) Tollstrup of Lethbridge, Ray (Coleeen) Bahr of Vauxhall, Hazel Alcock and Al McNaughton of Calgary, Frank (Lori) Bahr of Brooks, Ila (Garnet) Lovasz of Nanaimo, B.C.; numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews; one brother Walter Bahr of  Milden, Sask.; step-mother Helen Bahr of Milden, Sask., step-sisters Wilma (Davis) Chudy of Saskatoon, Sask., and Alice (Jack) Allard of Milden, Sask., and a step-brother Doug (Emma) Bahr of Edmonton,

Albert was predeceased by his wife Veva; sister Mabel Miller and sister- in law Mabel Bahr.

The funeral service was held in the Southland Funeral Chapel, (5006 – 48 Ave.) Taber on Friday, June 24, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. with the Reverend Ken Crassweller officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery, Brooks, Alberta at 2:00 p.m.

Arrangements were in care of Reardon’s Southland Funeral Chapel.
