BAKER – Cynthia Ann (Cyndi) Baker passed away suddenly in Brooks on Tuesday, September 4th, 1990, at the age of 14 years.
She is the beloved daughter of Sharon and Lindsay Reid of Brooks and the late Vern Baker.
Cynthia was born on September 24th, 1975, in Lethbridge. She lived in Foremost until 1980 and then moved to Brooks. Cyndi was a sweet girl. Her kindness and compassion for everyone made her special. She always loved little children and was well known for her way with them. She was active in Brownies, Guides and Calvinettes. Cynthia enjoyed basketball and badminton, always being supportive of her teammates during the game and in their everyday lives. Cyndi’s willingness to listen to everyone’s problems endeared her to many. She touched the lives of everyone she knew.
She is survived by her parents; her sister Claudene of Lethbridge; her brother Trevor of Brooks; her half-brother Ryan of Medicine Hat; grandparents, Harald Street of Foremost; Josephine Stone and her husband Claire of Wildwood, Alberta; Violet Baker of Lethbridge and Carrie and Bill Gilchrist of Medicine Hat; great grandmother Anne Brouse of Wildwood and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services were held at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Brooks, on Monday, September 10th at 2:00 p.m. Rev. Ken Grambo officiated. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Griffin Park students, grades nine and ten.
Active pallbearers were Ron Reid, Darryl Shoemaker, Wayne Street, Kevin Street, Ray Hammel and Ray Baker.
