BAKSA – Joseph Baksa a well – known farmer of the Brooks district, died Monday, July 4th in the Brooks Municipal Hospital.
Mr Baksa fist came to Canada in 1907, from his birthplace in Hungary. He first settled at Lestock, Sask., where he farmed for some years, and since 1945 he has operated a farm near Brooks.
Surviving are his wife, Kathleen, one son, James and a daughter, Matilda, all of Brooks. Also a daughter, Mrs. Jean Soltesz and his father, John Baksa, both of Osoyoos, B.C., and three brothers, three sisters and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 7th from Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, Brooks, with Father Tegsier officiating. Interment took place in the Brooks cemetery.
Smith’s Funeral Home, Brooks, was in charge of arrangements.
