BEAMISH· Harvey James Beamish, beloved husband of Elva Beamish of Brooks, passed away in Calgary on November 5th, 1997 at the age of 68.
Born in Brock, Saskatchewan on April 24th, 1929 Harvey moved to High Prairie with his parents. He began his training as a Heavy Duty Mechanic with his father. Harvey enlisted with the Canadian Army in 1948 and served until 1951. He enlisted with the Canadian Air Force in 1953 and served until his discharge in 1958.
Harvey and Elva were married in Saskatoon on September 2nd, 1950. They resided in numerous places in northern Alberta and the NWT before coming to Brooks in 1975. Harvey had been employed with Schlumberger until retiring in 1993.
He was predeceased by his son Richard on March 1st, 1985, his parents and his brother.
Harvey is also survived by his sons David of Fort Smith, NWT and Ken and his wife Tina of Calgary; 3 grandchildren Sandy, Sherri and Chad; 3 great-grandchildren Jeremy, Presley and Faren; his sister Elaine Dafoe of Lethbridge and his niece Janice.
Services were held at 11 :00 a.m. on Monday, November 10th from Smith Memorial Chapel, Brooks. Rev. Dave Prowse officiated. Internment followed at Brooks Cemetery.
