BENDER – Marie (Mary) Rose Bender died on August 12. 1984 in Calgary at the age of 69 years.
She was born at Maple Creek, Saskatchewan on October 6, 1914 and attended school there.
She met and married William Bender in Medicine Hat in 1947. She resided in Tilley and Millicent districts before moving to Brooks in 1958 where she has resided since.
She was an active member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary. Mary has provided her family with outstanding patience, love and understanding and thus holds a very special place in their hearts.
She was predeceased by her parents; five brothers; and one daughter.
Surviving are her husband Bill Bender of Brooks; two daughters. Alberta and Babs; five sons. Bob. Marvin, James, Jack and Dean; one sister Hattie; 12 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday. August 15 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend James Lynn officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Allan Reesor, Ben Coombs, Jim Jenkins, David Houseman. Cliff Redelback and Rueben Dick.
