BENTON – Allan Benton of Brooks died on November 15, 1977in the Brooks General Hospital at the age 89 years.
He was born at Clinton County, Michigan, U.S.A. and served in the U.S. Army Supply Regiment, 4th Division during World War I.
He came to Eastend, Saskatchewan in 1921 where he farmed until coming to Brooks in 1950 where he has resided since. He has lived in the Newell Nursing Home for the past two years.
He was a long time member of the E.I.D Branch, Royal Canadian Legion.
Surviving are two brothers, Earl and Forest of Eastend, Sask., and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held in Smith Memorial Chapel on Friday, November 18 at 2p.m. with the Rev. C.E. Mortimer officiating, Interment followed in the Field of Honor, Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Tony Stanker. George Nelson. Gordon MacKenzie, Fred Gratrix, Allen Reesor and Rev. George Scott.
Smith Funeral Home was director of service.
