Berger, Desire Joseph

BERGER – A pioneer resident of the Patricia and Millicent districts, Desire Joseph Berger died on June 9, 1981 in the Auxiliary Hospital in Brooks at the age of 77 years.

He was born in Belgium and came to Canada with his family in 1916 to the Patricia district. He later farmed in the Millicent district and moved to Brooks in 1951 where he has resided since. He was employed by the Eastern Irrigation District until his retirement in 1968.

Surviving are his wife, Marie of Brooks; one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Gravette of Shelton, Washington; two grand-children and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral service was held on Thursday, June 11 at 2:00  p.m. in Smith Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Terry Connolly officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Allan Reesor, Emil Weiss, Bob Oliver, George Hughes, John Sears and Keith Henrickson.
