BLAIR – John Blair passed away October 1, 1968 in the Medicine Hat Auxiliary Hospital following a lengthy illness. He was 91.

Born in Port of Monteith Scotland he immigrated to Saskatchewan in 1905 and to Alberta soon after, where he was employed building the Bassano branch line of the C.P. Railroad.

Later he was employed by the C.P.R. in the demonstration farm near Brooks where he farmed until 1918 when he semi-retired in the 30’s to move north of Duchess where he resided on his farm raising purebred sheep. He was later employed in the area in the sheep ranching industry.

Mr. Blair moved to the Newbrook Lodge in 1967 where he resided until his recent illness.

Surviving him are two sisters, Mrs. E. McLennan of Tomkins, Sask. and Miss Mary Blair of Scotland.

Funeral service will be held from Smith’s Funeral Chapel on Friday, October 4 at 2:00 p.m. with Mr. Clarence Ramer officiating. Interment in the Brooks Cemetery with arrangements under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
