BOOTH – Douglas William Booth of Brooks, Alberta died on February 13, 1986 in the Holy Cross Hospital in Calgary at the age of 63 years.
He was born at Brooks and moved to Tilley with his parents at the age of six years and received his education there. He served in the air force during the Second World War as an aircraft mechanic in eastern Canada. Following his discharge he returned west to farm in the Tilley district.
He married Cleo Elliott on November 15, 1949.
Due to ill health he retired to in 1973 and took an active interest in the Brooks and District Museum; was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Tilley and was currently a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Brooks.
Surviving are his wife Cleo of Brooks; a son Gordon and.his wife Emlie of Edson; a daughter Laura of Calgary; two grandchildren; a sister Ruby Simpson of Brookdale,Manitoba and nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held on Monday, February 17 at 2 p.rn. at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Reverend Ken Grambo officiating, Interment followed in Brooks Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Erland Christiansen, Nels Hjorth and John Buday. Active pallbearers were Harry Hjorth, Alvin Skanderup, Carl Hendricksen, Gordon Neilson, Ben Colbens and Dale Christiansen.
