Borge, Minda Constance

BORGE – Mrs. Minda Constance Borge, beloved wife of the late Ole Borge of Brooks, passed away in Brooks on October 10th, 1993 at the age of 103 years.

She was born in Haaknik, Norway jn 1890, and was raised and educated there before coming to Canada in 1925 with four small children to settle in Naicam, Saskatchewan. In 1927 she married Ole Borge and they moved to Lac Vert, Saskatchewan where they farmed. In 1942 they moved to Brooks, Alberta where she had resided until her passing.

She was an active member of the Lu­theran Church, who enjoyed working with her hands and enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and was well respected in the community.

She was predeceased by her husband Ole in 1970, one son Meyer (Pedersen) two daughters; Gunvor Cheyne, and Signe Needham, a grandson; Robert Henderson and one granddaughter; Vicki Bentz.

She will be greatly missed by three daugh­ters; Elly Whewell of Brooks, Milly and her husband Ed Henderson of White Rock, B.C., Bertha and her husband Ed Bentz of Brooks, one son; Melvin and his wife Valerie Borge of Brooks, 12 grandchildren, 15 great­grandchildren, four. great-great-grandchil­dren, two nieces, one nephew, arid numer­ous other relatives.

Funeral services will be held on Wednes­day, October 13th, 1993 (today) at 2:00 p.m. in Smith’s Memorial Chapel, with the Reverend Ray Ursin officiating. Interment to follow in the Brooks Cemetery.

Pallbearers are Jim Needham, Roy Bentz, Mark McCaghr.en, Kelly Needham, Gordon Hinther and Harry Bentz.
