BORTH – George

Word of the death of Mr. George Borth at Brooks Hospital after a lengthy illness has just came in. The community send sympathy to members of Mr. Borth’s family, Mr. George Trekofski and family and his wife.

BORTH – Mrs, Helena Martina Borth, widow of the late George Borth, passed away in Brooks on March 31st, 1996 at the age of 93 years.

Mrs, Borth is survived by her loving family, her daughters, Alice Zeeb of Medicine Hat and Agnes Trekofski (George Pickering) of Hays, Alberta; 2 grandsons Wayne (Trudy) Trekofski of Scandia and Gary Zeeb of Medicine Hat; 4 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandson Tyler who was born on March 27th; her sister Anne Zollner of Fairfax, Minnesota; sisters-in law Irene Hellmer of Brooks and Rose (Ronald) Gotham, Mankato, Minnesota; her brother-in-law Bernard Borth of Fairfax and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born in St. George, Minnesota on January 29th, 1903 Helena received her education in West Newton, Minnesota. She married on November 6th, 1923 at Fairfax and with her husband farmed at Stewart and Fairfax before coming to Canada to Tilley on August 28th, 1928. They farmed there until retiring to Brooks in 1965. Helena lover her family and friends and enjoyed gardening.

She was predeceased by her parents Anton and Rosa, her husband George on June 11th, 1978, a granddaughter Joyce Zeeb on November 6th, 1967 and her great-great-granddaughter Danielle Trekofski on February 5th, 1995.

Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 3rd at 1:30 p.m. from St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Brooks. The Rev. Brian Frank celebrant.

Pallbearers are Wayne Trekofski, George Trekofski, Tim Spackman and Eric Charbonneau.

Interment will follow at Brooks Cemetery. If friends desire memorial tributes may be made to Brooks and District Ambulance Association.
