BRACONNIER – Sunday afternoon just after midday, little George Reginald age two and one half years was drowned in the Spillway ditch at Millicent. The little fellow had been playing with a number of other children near the Spillway. The children wondered away from the ditch and after a time, missing the little boy, returned to the ditch bank only to discover him missing. They immediately spread the alarm and within a short time the body was found in the water, First aid methods were applied but to no avail.

It was estimated the body had been in the water between one-half and three quarters of an hour.

Dr. C. E. Anderson, Coroner of Brooks was called to the scene of the drowning, No inquest was held.

The funeral was held from the Roman Catholic Church on Monday afternoon.

The sympathy of all in the Community is extended to the bereaved parents in their sad loss.
