BRADSHAW – A long time resident of the Brooks district, John David Bradshaw of Brooks passed away on October 16, 1973 in the Foothills Hospital in Calgary, He was 64 years of age.
He was born in Crystal, North Dakota, U.S.A. and came with his parents to Cravath Corners near Wardlow, Alberta in 1911 where his father homesteaded.
He married the former Anne Frankhauser in 1932 and ranched in the District until 1939 when he moved to Patricia and in 1945 he moved to Brooks where he farmed one mile north of town. He retired in 1967 due to poor health. His prime interest has been the cattle business.
Surviving are his wife, Anne of Brooks; two daughters, Mrs. William (Lee) Hunt of Endiang, Mrs. George (Rose Anne) Reid of Edmonton; one son, Samuel James Bradshaw of Lloydminster and nine grandchildren.
Funeral service was held on Friday, October 19 at 2 p.m. in Smith Funeral Chapel with Rev. C.J. Ramer officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery. Pallbearers were Joe Aust, Bob Anderson, George Reid, Bill Hunt, Bennett Owen and Grant Imes.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Brooks United Church or Newbrook Lodge, Brooks.
Smith Funeral Home were directors of service.
