BRODIE: Georgie Anna Irene Brodie of Duchess, Alberta died on March 27, 1987 at the age of 73 years.
She was born at Altee, Alberta on April 7, 1914 and resided there most of her younger years.
She married Jim Brodie on August 18, 1933 in Medicine Hat.
She loved horses and in her younger years was a top hand around the ranches. She was especially fond of music and played the piano, banjo and mandolin.
Surviving are her husband Jim of Duchess, a son Kenneth (K.O.) and hi! wife Sandy of Duchess, two daughters Donna and her husband Bill Grant of Merville, B.C. and Pat Suitor of Duchess, grandchildren, Linda, Daphne, Marlene Connie, Murray, Darren, Dana and Darcy great-granddaughters, Krista and Amber her mother Mrs. Pina Price of Brooks and a sister Margaret Lelond of Brooks and a nephew Jack Lelond of Duchess and a host of friends.
Funeral service was held on Saturday March 28 at 2 p.m. in Brooks United Church with the Reverend Voline Conley officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Frankie Arden, Emma Rasmussen, Lucille Jenkins, Nola DeFreese, Alice Stegen, Joyce House, Ina Anderson and Phyllis Wright.
Active pallbearers were Ron Howe, Reg Howe, Murray Suitor, Ivan Gomke, Greg Tamura and Doug Moore .
Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
