BROWN — Craig Allen Brown, beloved husband of Rhonda of Brooks, passed away suddenly in Brooks on June 7th, 2000 at the age of 38 years.
Craig was born in Brooks on August 30th, 1961 and received his education here and in Coaldale for two years. After high school, Craig had worked on the rigs and at Lakeside. He apprenticed his welding with Brooks Welding and received his ticket from SAIT in 1988. Craig had worked for McConnell Welding for 10 years and was currently with Hi-Calibre Welding of Brooks. He loved the outdoors, hunting and history. He was an avid collector of old bottles and spent many hours exploring with his metal detector. Craig will be best remembered for his love for his family and friends and for his sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his father Sid in 1993, mother-in-law Shirley Garrity in 1993 and Grandpa Clarence Morrison in 1985.
Besides his wife, Craig is also survived by his beloved children, daughter Bobbie and son Joshua; his mother Marion of Brooks, sisters Debra Klassen and her husband Ron of Calgary and Corrine Gibbs and her husband Cori of Brooks; brother Dale of Brooks; father-in-law Ron Empey and his wife Rose of Ontario; sister-in-law Charlene (Ron) Green of Ontario and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services were held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13th, from Smith Memorial Chapel. Rev. George Edmonds officiated.
Honorary Pallbearers were all Craig’s many friends. Active Pallbearers were Dale Brown, Cori Gibbs, Aaron Klassen, Pat Schissler, Darwin Corriveau and Al Morrison. Interment followed at Brooks Cemetery.
