BUDAY – Paul Buday, 17 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. John Buday of Tilley, was killed almost instantly when the truck he was driving was struck by the east bound passenger train near Tilley last Friday morning, September 20, at about 10:30 a.m. The fatality occurred at the level crossing just west of the village.
Cpl. W.B. Shaw, R.C.M.P. and Coroner Dr. C.E. Anderson of Brooks were summoned to the scene of the accident but no immediate verdict was given. A jury was empaneled, comprising Eric Robinson, Harry Terlaak, August Orwold. Ed Mclatosh, R.C. Kane and W.O. Judkins. The session was adjourned until Friday, September 27, at 7:30 p.m.
Funeral services for the boy were held from the Roman Catholic church on Monday, with Rev. J. E. Morrow officiating. Burial was held in the Brooks cemetery.
