Bunney, Austin Thomas

BUNNEY· Austin Thomas, beloved husband of Hilda Bunney of Brooks, formerly of Duchess, Alberta passed away at the Brooks Auxiliary Hospital on November 24th, 1997 at the age of 74 years.

Austin was born in Big Springs, Alberta (near Cereal) on January 13th, 1923. He spent his childhood and early school years in that area until 1937 when the family moved to the One Tree area. In his younger years Austin worked on farms and did custom trucking. On November 23rd, 1947 he married Hilda Ulrick and in the spring of 1950 they moved to Duchess. They ranched there for 38 years and then due to health problems, moved to Brooks in 1988 and semi­retired.

Austin was predeceased by his son Calvin Andrew in 1979.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife Hilda, son Bryan (Feme) of Fallen, Alberta and daughter Cheryl (Mel) Hyland of Ponoka, Alberta; grandchildren Jack (Tamara) Bunney, Rhonda Bunney and Barry Reimer, Clayton Bunney, Austin Beasley, Roxanne Beasley, Jami Chapple and great-granddaughter Jackie Reimer.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 28th at 2:00 p.m. from the Brooks United Church. Reverend George Edmonds and Pastor Charles Ramer will ­be officiating. Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery.
