BUNNEY – A native daughter of the district, Mrs. Daisy Bunney died in Brooks General Hospital on July 15, 1972 at the age of 50.
Born in Buffalo, she received her education in the Buffalo district, moving to the Brooks area in 1942. Mrs. Bunney married in 1947 and has resided in the Duchess district since 1952, She was a member of the Duchess United Church and the United Church Women.
She is survived by her husband, Denzel Bunney of Duchess; three sons, Donald of Duchess, David of Valleyview and Daryl of Duchess; three daughters, Mrs. Robert (Doris) Meggit of Marcombe, Alberta, Mrs. Willis (Dorothy) Spencer, Brooks and Miss Delores Bunney of Duchess; three grandchildren, five brothers, James Orville Dearing, Okotoks, Gilbert of Okotoks, Clifford, Surrey B.C., Vernon, Buffalo and Roy, Bowden; twin sisters, Mrs. Hazel Paish of Grande Prairie and Mrs. Alma Wambeke of Longview, Alta.
Service was held in Duchess United Church on Tuesday, July 18 at two o’clock with Rev. Marjory Ashton officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks cemetery with arrangement under the direction of Smith Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Pallbearers were Earl Spencer, Rufus Chudleigh, Walter Shephard. Rudy Peltzer, Olaf Skjenna and George Mercer.
