BURTON – Arthur Thomas Burton,  beloved husband of Edna Burton of  Brooks, passed away on August 10th,  2003 at the age of 85 years. Born in  Latham, Alberta on November 5th,  1917 Art’s family homesteaded at  BadgerLake, near Lomond, and later  farmed in the Olds area. In 1922 they  moved to Tilley where Art received all  his education. He married Edna Hill in  1939 and farmed in the Tilley area for  50 years before moving to Brooks in  1998. Art enjoyed watching baseball,  playing pool, curling and golfing. He  was a very quiet, gentle and honest  man. Art leaves to cherish his memory,  his wife and best friend of 64 years,  Edna; son Donald and his wife Jeanette  of Tilley; daughter Diane Nelson and  her husband LeRoy of Scandia; 5 grandchildren, Corinne Burton (Dwayne),  Lynda (Ryan) Wilkinson, Scott Burton (Leslie), David (Amanda) Nelson and  Todd (Julie) Nelson; 3 great grandchildren Sarah Wilkinson, Jarett Nelson  and Gregory Nelson; sister-in-law Joanne Hill and numerous nieces and  nephews. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 14th  from the BrooksUnitedChurch. Rev. John Theiss of the TrinityLutheran  Church, Brooks officiating. Interment to follow at Brooks Cemetery.
