CALLISON – Mr. Thomas Andrew Callison passed away in Brooks on November 10th, 1995 at the age of 79 years.
Born at Edmonton on August 21st, 1916 Tommy resided in numerous places before moving to Rolling Hills in 1939. He enlisted in the Canadian Army in 1943 and served overseas with the Calgary Highlanders. Tom was wounded during the war and received his discharge while hospitalized in England. He returned to Rolling Hills when able to travel and moved to Gem in 1950. He farmed in the community until entering the nursing home in 1992. Tommy had been a member of the Royal Canadian legion – EID Branch, Brooks.
He is survived by his sister Elsie Marquess of Bassano; his nephew Foley Marquess and his wife Lynne and their children Andrew and Leigh and Scott and Lisa; his nieces Virginia (Ron) Irvine and Sancie Kemtrup all of Bassano; his aunt Mabel Foley of Brooks; his cousins Betty Harris of Galveston, Texas and Bob Williamson of Vancouver and his special friend Babe Chris.
Funeral services will be held from Smith’s Memorial Chapel, Brooks on Friday, November 17th at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Hector Rose officiating.
Honor guard and fraternal service are supplied by members of the EID Legion. Active pallbearers are Ronn Christianson, Floyd George, John Douglass, Jim Peake, Wallace Fraser and Dave Goodheart. Interment follows in the Field of Honor, Brooks Cemetery.
