Cameron, Lachlan Stanley

CAMERON – Lachlan Stanley (Stan) Cameron of Brooks, Alberta died at his residence on August 14, 1991 at the age of 71 years.

He was born at Ernpress, Alberta and resided at Acadia Valley before moving to Patricia in 1939.

He was employed in the oilfields from 1940 until moving to Brooks district in 1957 and has farmed in the district since. In addition to farming Stan had worked for Brooks Livestock for about 25 years.

He married the former Peggy Ross in Taber on August 3, 1944.

He was a good husband and father and had a great love for horses and was always ready to give a helping hand to friends and neighbors. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Besides his loving wife Peggy he is survived by his daughter, Diane Vikedal and her husband Johan of Tilley, Alta.; his son Cal and his wife Lorette of Carbon, Alta.; six grandchildren; three sisters, Margaret Cowan and her husband Bob, Agnes McGaffin and her husband Bill, Doris Cooper and her husband Jim, two brothers, Archie and his wife Marj, Johnnie and his wife Vi all of Calgary, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held at Smith’s Memorial Chapel on Monday, August 19 at 2 p.rn. with the Reverend Ken Grambo officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers were Dick Edwards, John Charlton, Butch Martin, John Martin, Ron Mclsaac and Levi Brooks. Active pallbearers were Dennis Niwa, Don Maclntyre,. Ed Martin, Alex Koza, Bob Brodie and Albert Rugsven.
