CARTNEY – Adam Cartney of Brooks, Alberta died August 22, 1987 in the Brooks Health Centre at the age of 84 years.
He was born at Aberdeenshire, Scotland on October 23, 1902.
He was predeceased by his wife Mabel in 1976, and a son Johnny in 1982.
Surviving are two sons, Bill and his wife Eileen of Edmonton, Lloyd and his wife Lois of Calgary, five daughters and their husbands, Irene and Angus Cope of Regina Beach, Sask., Jean and Jim Stedman of Innisfail, Phyllis and Robert Calvert of Innisfail, Lillian and Keith Wadham of Virden, Man., Clarice and Doug Vaudrin of Nanaimo, B.C., 18 grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren, a brother James Cartney of Hamiota, Man. a twin sister Cathy Barclay of Winnipeg, Man., and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral service was held at Smith Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, August 25 at 2 p.m. with Lloyd Haugen and Dan Hofer officiating. Interment followed in the Brooks Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Bob Cartney, Michael Cartney, Peter Rose, Kevin Wadham, Kent Cope and Kelly Calvert.
